JAKARTA, UIN Online News – UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta alongside its central Alumni Association (IKALUIN) officially announced the ten distinguished laureates of the IKALUIN Award 2026. The high-profile assembly honored exceptional graduates who have leveraged their academic foundations to drive structural reforms in global human rights, ecological justice, and democratic development.

The executive summit was attended by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, international diplomats, and the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, represented by the Special Advisor on Law and Human Rights, Professor Salman Maggalatung.

In his state address, the Minister of Religious Affairs, Professor Nasaruddin Umar, emphasized that UIN Jakarta graduates serve as vital geopolitical anchors in stabilizing modern social polarizations, climate disruptions, and technological ethics. "Our alumni must act as trans-cultural agents of change who inject empirical solutions directly into global civil society," the Minister asserted.

The Ten Laureates of the IKALUIN Award 2026

  1. Community Empowerment: Abdul Halim Ambiya As the founder of Tasawuf Underground since 2012, Ambiya revolutionized street-level rehabilitation by applying social mysticism to de-radicalize, educate, and economically reintegrate marginalized youth and homeless subcultures.
  2. Educational Innovation: Dr. Sutrisno Muslimin, M.Si. A vanguard in pedagogical quality governance, Dr. Muslimin engineered advanced character-building curricula and modernized multi-tier academic institutions under the prestigious Bakti Mulya 400 Foundation.
  3. Gender Equality and Child Protection: Yuniyanti Chuzaifah The former Chairperson of Indonesia’s National Commission on Violence Against Women (Komnas Perempuan), Chuzaifah is a global human rights defender who has spent over three decades shaping international policies protecting vulnerable migrant workers and women in conflict zones.

Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change: Khalisah Khalid A prominent eco-justice strategist operating through WALHI (Friends of the Earth) and Greenpeace Indonesia, Khalid has led high-stakes legal advocacy against corporate deforestation and pioneered cross-border climate accountability frameworks.
  5. Religious Philosophy and Philology: Professor Oman Fathurrahman, M.Hum. An internationally acclaimed philologist, Professor Fathurrahman pioneered the digitization and preservation of classic Southeast Asian Islamic manuscripts, connecting ancient Nusantara classical texts with modern global interfaith discourse.

Constitutional Law and Human Rights: Yati Andriani As a relentless human rights defender and former coordinator of KontraS (The Commission for Disappeared and Victims of Violence), Andriani has directed major legal interventions investigating state-sponsored violence and enforced disappearances at national and regional levels.

Political Science and Public Governance: Professor Saiful Mujani, M.A. The visionary founder of Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC), Professor Mujani is a world-class political scientist who pioneered data-driven democratic polling in Southeast Asia, earning prestigious international accolades from the American Political Science Association (APSA).

Contemporary Arts and Cultural Diplomacy: Wali Band Born within the student culture of UIN Jakarta, this chart-topping multi-platinum musical group seamlessly infuses modern pop-rock compositions with profound theological ethics and humanitarian messages across international Southeast Asian music markets.
  9. Visual Media and Influential Youth (Young Hero): Arafah Rianti A major comedic force and cultural influencer, Rianti utilizes digital media platforms and observational stand-up comedy to challenge social stereotypes, empowering Gen-Z demographics through authentic, grassroots storytelling.
  10. Ultimate Lifetime Achievement: The Late K.H. Zainuddin M.Z. Reveredly known as the "Preacher of a Million Muslims," this iconic orator transformed mass-media da'wah by democratizing complex theological jurisprudence into accessible, egalitarian civic ethics, reshaping the landscape of public religious discourse in modern Indonesian history.

Rector of UIN Jakarta, Professor Asep Saepudin Jahar, Ph.D., concluded the ceremony by framing the awards as a launchpad for deeper corporate-academic synergy.

"Alumni are not just historic graduates; they are our most critical transnational partners," Rector Jahar stated. "We are establishing high-level resource networks with our laureates to scale global research output, build multinational startup incubators, and launch elite international scholarship pipelines for the next generation of global students."
