Humanitarian Fund for Palu and Donggala Reaches 60 Million
Academic Building, UIN News Online - UIN Jakarta managed to raise humanitarian funds in the amount of Rp. 61,255,600 from donors through "UIN Jakarta Peduli Palu". Collecting funds is carried out to help the victims of the earthquake and tsunami that hit the City of Palu and its surroundings.
"The amount of funds collected is still temporary because fundraising is still ongoing," said Subarja, Head of Planning and Finance (PK) Bureau at the Academic building on Wednesday (10/3/2018). He also said that fundraising would continue until this weekend.
"We do not have a target of how much funds must be collected. We still continue to receive the fundraising until next weekend, "he continued.
Subarja said, all academics of UIN Jakarta took part in condolences over the earthquake and tsunami disaster that drew residents of Palu City and Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi. Deep sorrow and concern were also conveyed especially to the citizens of the academic community of IAIN Palu whose campus buildings were severely damaged.
As a result of the damage to the campus, the lecture process was disrupted and students were unable to study for a while. However, he hoped that the IAIN Palu campus building would be immediately recovered so that the teaching and learning process would return to normal.
"We all as the academic community of UIN Jakarta can only pray for what happened to the people of Palu, especially the academics at IAIN Palu, given their fortitude and patience," he said.
According to Subarja, assistance from residents of the UIN Jakarta academic community for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Palu had not yet been focused on who would be addressed. Because, it is still not decided at the leadership level.
"So far we don't know yet. Will specifically be given to IAIN Palu or to whom," he said.
As reported, the city of Palu, Central Sulawesi, and its surroundings was rocked by an earthquake measuring 7.4 on the 24th September 2018 at 18.22 WITA. The earthquake which was accompanied by a 3 meter high tsunami wave destroyed all areas, including the IAIN Palu campus.
