Holds 136th Graduation: UIN Jakarta Produces Quality Graduates, Ready to Realize Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision
Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Online News — UIN Jakarta held its 136th open senate graduation ceremony with the theme "UIN Jakarta Alumni: Pioneers of Sustainable Change Towards Golden Indonesia 2045" at the Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Jakarta, Saturday (24/5/2025). This graduation saw 1,114 students from various educational levels graduate, ready to become agents of change in realizing the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision through a sustainable approach in various fields.
On the first day of the graduation, Saturday (24/5/2025), UIN Jakarta conferred degrees upon 569 graduates from various faculties, including; 236 people from the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Sciences (FITK), 158 people from the Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH), 37 people from the Faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah (FDI), 45 people from the Faculty of Psychology (FPSI), 33 people from the Graduate School (SPs), and 60 people from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP).
The graduation procession began with the opening of the open senate session led directly by the Chairman of the Senate, Prof. Dr. Dede Rosyada, MA., as an official sign of the commencement of the graduation procession series.
In the following session, the reading of the Rector's Decree regarding the graduation of the students was conducted by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi Kharlie, M.A., M.H., who officially declared that the students had met all academic requirements to be declared graduates.
The highlight of the event was marked by the inauguration of the male and female graduates by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, who in the procession officially declared that the graduates were entitled to hold their respective academic degrees. The inauguration was carried out before the university senate, lecturers, as well as the families and relatives of the graduates who were also present to witness this proud moment.
In his speech, the rector appreciated all male and female graduates for the achievements they had made after going through a long and challenging process. He realized that every success today is the result of a struggle that was not light. “The journey to this point was not easy. But thanks to perseverance and belief, you have succeeded in achieving and becoming intellectual scholars,” he said.
Furthermore, the rector invited the male and female graduates to continue to develop and not stop learning. He emphasized the importance of readiness in facing the rapidly changing times.
“The world needs the ability to adapt. Whoever is able to adjust to change, they are the ones who will survive. But if we do not change along with that change, then we are the ones who will be left behind,” he stressed.
On the same occasion, the rector continued the procession of moving the toga tassels for the male and female graduates, followed by the awarding of diplomas by the faculty deans. The awarding of these diplomas marked the completion of the academic process as well as the opening of a new chapter in the lives of the graduates.
The event was then officially closed with the closing of the open senate session by the Chairman of the Senate. This closing marked the end of the 136th graduation procession series and at the same time became a moment of pride for the entire academic community and the extended family of UIN Jakarta.
