HMJ Tarjamah Holds the 21th Mahrajaan Tarjamah
FAH, UIN News Online – In order to enliven the 21th anniversary of FAH UIN Jakarta Tarjamah Department, Student Association of Tarjamah Department (HMJ Tarjamah) FAH UIN Jakarta held the 21th Mahrajaan Tarjamah, themed on “Penerjemahan di Era Digital” at FAH Auditorium, Campus 3 of UIN Jakarta, Monday, (03/12/2018).
Present in the event, Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni and Cooperation FAH UIN Jakarta Dr. Zubair, M.Ag, Vice Dean for General Administration FAH UIN Jakarta Dr. R. Yaniah Wardani, M.Ag, Tarjamah Department Head of FAH UIN Jakarta Dr. Moch Syarif Hidayatullah M.Hum, and Professor of Arabic Literature and Philology FAH UIN Jakarta Prof Dr Nabilah Lubis MA.
Representing the Dean of FAH UIN Jakarta, Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni and Cooperation FAH UIN Jakarta Dr. Zubair, M.Ag in his remarks appreciate the holding of the event, Zubair said that the event is in line with the mission of Tarjamah Department FAH UIN Jakarta, which is heading towards digital era.
“In this Digital era, there are many ways to simplify the process of translating, such as by using various online translator applications. However, the users of these applications must master the grammar and other aspects. This is due to the application often ignores the grammatical aspects, so the results sometimes do not correspond with the actual meaning,” said Zubair.
On the same occasion, Tarjamah Department Head Dr. Moch Syarif Hidayatullah M.Hum said that Tarjamah Department students have made various breakthroughs in the digital world, “Our students have made various Android and PC-based applications, ranging from Murtajim Dictionary that has been downloaded by more than 100 thousand Android users, and also develop Arab-Indonesian Translator Competency Test (UKOPAI) application,” said Syarif.
Syarif also added that Tarjamah Department is currently working on android-based Arabic teaching for early childhood application.
“This proves that Tarjamah Department of FAH UIN Jakarta managed to answer the challenge in this digital era,” he added. (usa)
