HIMAPOL UIN Jakarta Holds Four Pillars Socialization
FISIP Auditorium, UIN News Online – Political Sciences Student Association (HIMAPOL) UIN Jakarta, in collaboration with Peoples Consultative Assembly of the Republic Indonesia (MPR RI) holds National Seminar and MPR RI Four Pillars Socialization entitled “Pancasila Sebagai Dasar dan Ideologi Negara, UUD Negara RI Tahun 1945 Sebagai Konstitusi Negara serta Ketetapan MPR, Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia Sebagai Bentuk Negara, Bhineka Tunggal Ika Sebagai Semboyan Indonesiaâ€, in FISIP auditorium, Friday, (5/19) and officially opened by Vice Dean for Student Affairs Agus Nugraha MA.
The seminar presents the Member of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission IX of the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration, Population, Health Saleh Partaonan Daulay M. Hum as a speaker.
In his presentation, Saleh explained that the constitution must be upheld and regulate the life of Indonesian society. This is in line with the reform movement spirit few years ago who wanted Pancasila and 1945 Constitution as the ideological and constitutional basis of Indonesian society who want to transform Indonesia into a non-authoritarian democratic state.
The spirit of reform that puts the state in a democratic system, he continued, allows every citizen to occupy a position in a public organization. “This was different during the pre-reform period, in which only the rank of Colonel or Brigadier General were eligible to become regional leaders. With the movement of reforms, all citizens have the right to become leaders,†he said.
Daulay also added, MPR soon will start the deliberations over the fifth amendment of the Constitution, which will reinstate the now-defunct state policy guidelines (GBHN). This is needed to accommodate the community development vision diversity by each local government. “Any changes will have consequences. The People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) is conducting an in-depth discussion to reinstate the GBHN,†he said. (usa)
