Highlighting the 2026 CITSM International Conference, UIN Jakarta Drives Commitment to AI Development
Surabaya, UIN News Online – Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. H. Ahmad Tholabi Kharlie delivered welcoming remarks at the opening of The 14th International Conference on Cyber and IT Service Management (CITSM) 2026 representing UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Carrying the theme “Green and Responsible AI-Driven IT Service Management”, the event took place in a hybrid format with Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) serving as one of the main host hubs, Thursday (10/09/2026).
The conference was attended by university academics and researchers from institutions including UIN Jakarta, UNESA, International Islamic University Malaysia, and Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology. UIN Jakarta's involvement in CITSM 2026 marks a tangible step toward broadening academic perspectives in response to technological developments across strategic issues in computing and processing, communications and networking, signal processing and analysis, robotics and control systems, energy and industrial applications, as well as advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and IT service management.
Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. H. Ahmad Tholabi Kharlie opened his address by expressing gratitude and appreciation to UNESA Rector Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at UNESA Prof. Dr. Anang Kistyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., Conference Chair of CITSM 2026 Prof. Husni Teja Sukmana, Ph.D., keynote speakers, the organizing committee, academic partners, and international participants.
“On behalf of the Rector and the entire academic community of UIN Jakarta, we express our deep appreciation and gratitude for the opportunity to be part of this international conference,” he stated.
The conference theme, “Green and Responsible AI-Driven IT Service Management”, was deemed highly relevant as the rapid development of AI brings immense responsibility regarding ethics, governance, environmental sustainability, and social impact. Prof. Dr. H. Ahmad Tholabi Kharlie emphasized that the success of digital innovation should not be measured solely by its technical sophistication, but rather by its capacity to improve human quality of life and address real societal challenges. Therefore, the implementation of AI must remain firmly rooted in humanitarian principles and sustainability.
In his presentation, Prof. Dr. H. Ahmad Tholabi added that higher education institutions hold a critical role in guiding the direction of digital transformation through impactful research, fostering innovation, and providing solutions to various global crises. Academic responsibility does not end with producing high-quality graduates, but also encompasses strengthening global collaboration.
“Collaboration among universities, researchers, and various institutions is a key driver to achieving sustainable development and creating a meaningful impact,” he expressed.
In line with this spirit, two key themes addressed by the speakers reflected a deep focus on the ethical and human dimensions of technology. This was highlighted through two primary discussions: “Advanced Neural Intelligence for Precision Mental Well-Being” and “Advancing Toward Responsible Process Intelligence”.

expressed his hope that this forum will not serve merely as a platform for discussion, but will evolve into a foundation for ongoing research and academic collaboration.
“May all participants gain new insights, establish academic networks, and develop collaborations that bring meaningful benefits to the global academic community,” he concluded.
The two-day international conference held on Thursday–Friday (10–11/09/2026) is expected to serve as an academic meeting point uniting technological innovation with social responsibility, while reinforcing the role of higher education in fostering a green, inclusive, and sustainable digital future.
