Highlighting Student Cost Constraints, UIN Jakarta Rector Welcomes Baznas Scholarship Program for Postgraduate Students

Main Conference Room, UIN News Online - In the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UIN Jakarta and Baznas for the provision of scholarships to postgraduate students, the Rector of UIN Jakarta delivered her remarks by highlighting the great challenges faced by students, especially in religious study programs, due to financial constraints.

“The interest in UIN Jakarta is huge,” said the Rector, ”but, unfortunately, many students are forced to graduate or are unable to continue their education due to financial constraints.”

In addition, the Rector of UIN Jakarta emphasized the importance of this scholarship program in supporting the continuation of students' education, not only from within the country, but also from abroad. “We receive interest from various countries to continue their studies at UIN Jakarta, including from Sudan, Afghanistan, and others. I hope Baznas can assist in the implementation of the entry of these international students to UIN Jakarta,” he explained.

Furthermore, the Rector of UIN Jakarta highlighted the importance of close collaboration between UIN Jakarta and Baznas, especially in supporting beneficiaries at various levels of education, both S1, S2, and S3. “Education investment is the most important investment to humanize people,” said Prof. Asep, emphasizing the vital role of education in building a better society.

The signing of this MoU is in line with UIN Jakarta's commitment in supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with Baznas, especially in the field of inclusive and quality education. With this collaboration, UIN Jakarta and Baznas are expected to continue to strengthen their contribution in producing the next generation of a qualified and globally competitive nation.

Noor Achmad, M.A., Head of the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas) RI for Distribution and Empowerment, Saidah Sakwan, M.A., Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., Head of Bureau of Academic Administration, Student Affairs and Cooperation, Priyono, M.Pd., and Director of Graduate School Prof. Dr. Zulkifli, M.A..
