The Hajj Hospital of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta or previously known as the Jakarta Hajj Hospital has officially changed its management to UIN Jakarta since May 2020. This hospital was previously managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and had the status of a limited liability company (PT).

The establishment of the Jakarta Hajj Hospital was motivated by the Mina tunnel tragedy that killed tens of thousands of Indonesian pilgrims in 1990. Apart from Jakarta, Hajj Hospital was also built in three other big cities, namely Makassar, Surabaya and Medan. (ns/usa)
