Greater Opportunities Ahead: UIN Jakarta Opens 2026 Independent Admission with Multiple Assessment Pathways
Jakarta, UIN Online News — UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has officially opened applications for its 2026 Independent Admission (SPMB Mandiri), expanding access to higher education for prospective students from diverse academic and non-academic backgrounds. The admission scheme serves as an alternative pathway for applicants who demonstrate strong potential and wish to pursue undergraduate studies at UIN Jakarta through a variety of assessment methods.
The 2026 Independent Admission is divided into two main categories: Regular Independent Admission and Non-Regular Independent Admission, each offering distinct selection mechanisms tailored to different applicant profiles.
The Regular Independent Admission pathway is based on the results of a computer-based examination administered through UIN Jakarta's Electronic Selection System (SSE). Applicants are assessed in several areas, including academic reasoning, verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, mathematical reasoning, language literacy, and Islamic literacy. Detailed information regarding available study programs, application schedules, and selection procedures is available through the university's official admissions portal.
The Non-Regular Independent Admission offers several alternative pathways with different assessment criteria. The Achievement-Based Admission is intended for applicants who have earned national or international academic or non-academic achievements recognized by credible institutions. Candidates are evaluated based on their academic transcripts from Grade 10 (first semester) through Grade 12 (fifth semester), a faculty interview, and a portfolio documenting up to three outstanding achievements.
Another option is the Talent Scouting pathway, which is exclusively available to students from schools that have an active Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UIN Jakarta or a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with one of its faculties. Applicants are selected through an evaluation of their academic records, supporting achievements, and interviews conducted by faculty representatives.
UIN Jakarta also offers the BLU Scholarship Pathway, designed for applicants seeking financial assistance through the university's Public Service Agency (BLU) scholarship program. Eligibility requirements are determined by each study program, while the selection process considers applicants' academic performance, faculty interview results, and documented achievements.
To promote educational equity, the university provides the Equal Access to Education Pathway, specifically for applicants residing in Indonesia's Frontier, Outermost, and Disadvantaged (3T) regions, as defined by Presidential Regulation No. 63 of 2020. In addition to academic records, interviews, and achievements, applicants must provide proof of residence through official identification documents demonstrating their domicile in eligible 3T areas.
Prospective students may also apply using the results of the 2026 UTBK-SNBT or UM-PTKIN national examinations without taking the SSE entrance test. This option is available to applicants residing outside the provinces of Jakarta, Banten, and West Java. UTBK-SNBT applicants are required to upload their official score certificates through UIN Jakarta's admission system, while UM-PTKIN applicants need only submit their examination number, after which their scores will be synchronized directly with the national UM-PTKIN committee.
Through these diverse admission pathways, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta aims to provide a more inclusive, flexible, and accessible admissions system, ensuring that talented students from across Indonesia have greater opportunities to pursue quality higher education. Comprehensive information regarding admission schedules, study programs, eligibility requirements, and application procedures is available through the university's official admissions website.
