Graduate School of UIN Jakarta to be Reference of Islamic Studies

Ciputat, UIN NEWS Online – Standardization of Graduate School of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta for the study of Islamic studies, is a national standard.  A standard that became the reference of various post-graduate schools in Islamic universities in Indonesia.

The above thought was born from Abdullah Khusairi, a graduate student of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah, Jakarta, who is working on a dissertation entitled "Contemporary Islamic Discourse in Mass Media, Study on Radicalism in Popular Articles of Daily Newspaper Kompas and Republika 2013-2015".

"To be accredited with A mark is already ideal. It is difficult to find a comparison scale of accreditation A for Islamic universities in Indonesia, which has the quality equivalent to Post graduate program of UIN Ciputat. Graduate school of UIN Jakarta is the reference for Islamic studies, "said the lecturer of UIN Imam Bonjol, Padang.

The problem then, continued Khusairi, many students, especially at magister level, that comes from lesser standard universities so they have high difficulty attending lectures at Graduate School of UIN Jakarta.

"During college, they are not a tradition of reading and writing well. Just imagine. There are magister students who cannot make foot notes. If a small thing like this isn’t mastered properly, how can they achieve other things greater, "said the recipient of scholarship Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA)

According to Khusairi, inevitably, students of the Graduate School of UIN Jakarta, who come from various campuses throughout Indonesia, must be able to pursue scientific standards in this Graduate School UIN Ciputat.

"You must be serious. And inevitably, must be able to pursue the standard of science in graduate school of UIN Jakarta. In Ciputat, the soul of writing and reading must be great. If not able to pursue this standard, it must be left behind, "said Khusairi at Sps UIN Jakarta cafe, Tuesday, January 9, 2018. (usa-rs)
