Gains Informative Recognition, UIN Jakarta Will Upholds Its Commitment to Transparency

Jakarta, UIN News Online - UIN Jakarta has been awarded the prestigious title of the Informative State University Public Body for 2024, symbolizing its unwavering dedication to transparency.

The prestigious award was presented during the 2024 Night of Public Information Transparency Awards in Jakarta, organized by Central Information Commision on Tuesday, December 17th. Rector Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar M.A. Ph.D. proudly accepted the accolade on behalf of the university, which scored an outstanding 97.13, distinguishing itself among 35 state universities nationwide for its commitment to openness.

Expressing his gratitude, Rector Asep Jahar credited the collective dedication of UIN Jakarta's academic community. "Alhamdulillah, we end this year with the honor of being celebrated as the most Informative State University," he remarked, emphasizing the dual nature of this achievement as both a milestone and a mandate for continued excellence in transparency.

He further outlined plans for leveraging technology to enhance public information services, ensuring UIN Jakarta remains a beacon of informativeness.

The event also highlighted other State Islamic Universities under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, including UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung (97.50), UIN Walisongo Semarang (96.97), IAIN Kediri (96.28), and UIN Raden Fatah Palembang (95.80), for their commendable performance in public information transparency.

Prof. Dr. Imam Subchi M.A., Vice Rector for General Administration and Head of PPID UIN Jakarta, echoed the sentiment of collective effort, hoping this accolade would spur ongoing improvements in information accessibility.

Dr. Ir Donny Yusgiantoro, Chairman of the Central Information Commission, discussed the broader context of this year's evaluations, which included 363 public bodies. He noted that out of these, only 162 were deemed informative, with just 35 state universities making the grade, underscoring the necessity for ongoing enhancement in public information openness.

Public information transparency, as celebrated by this award, is governed by Law No. 14 of 2008. This law aims to foster civic participation, enhance governance practices, and strengthen public oversight of governmental functions.

Under this legislative framework, public bodies are ranked from 'Informative' to 'Not Informative', with 'Informative' representing the highest level of transparency and accountability. UIN Jakarta's achievement reflects its dedication to this standard, promising to uphold and amplify its commitment to transparency in the years to come. (PIH)
