FU UIN Jakarta holds national seminar

Main Auditorium, UIN News Online – Faculty of Ushuluddin (FU) UIN Jakarta holds national seminar on Islamic Study on Wednesday-Thursday (10/22-23/2019) at the Harun Nasution Auditorium, campus I of UIN Jakarta.

This activity is divided into two agendas. The first panel session was filled by several speakers including Pipip Ahmad Rifa'ii Hasan, Budhy Munawar-Rachman, Mukti Ali Qusyairi, Faqihuddin Abdul Qadir, Lies Marcoes, Dean of the Faculty of Usuluddin (FU)  Yusuf Rahman, and Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs FU Kusmana. The second session is a parallel session filled by selected Call for Paper participants and consists of three major themes; Interpretation of Hadith, Study of Religions, and Philosophy and Sufism.

Dean of FU UIN Jakarta Yusuf Rahman in his remarks said that this activity was the first activity carried out by FU. Previously, national seminar activities were held in each department, but this year it was held directly by the faculty.

He further explained that the Faculty of Usuluddin would be more active in conducting various academic activities like this. This was done in order to increase academic interest and activities from both lecturers and students.

“Hopefully this activity can trigger lecturers, and also students of the Faculty of Ushuluddin to be more active in conducting various academic activities such as writing and researching,” said Yusuf.

For information, In the panel session on the first day, the topic of discussion was the thought of renewing Islam and its leaders such as Nurcholish Madjid. While on the second day, there were several topics discussed namely Qira’ah Mubadalah, as well as women and Islam. (usa/yd/zm)
