FSH UIN Jakarta Holds International Conference on Human Welfare
Jakarta, UIN News Online - Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH) UIN Jakarta held the second international conference in Jakarta, Tuesday-Wednesday (16-17 / 10/2018). In accordance with its theme, Human Welfare in Modern Society: Redefining the Role of Economy, Law, and Philanthropy, this conference highlights the issue of human welfare in modern society.
The conference was opened by the Minister of Justice and Human Rights Yasonna Hamonangan Laoly. The conference also invited a number of speakers from several world universities such as Hunud Abia Kadouf from IIUM, Muammar Salameh from Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University, Kostas Retsikas from SOAS London, and Dina Imam Supaat from USIM Malaysia.
Attended as guest speaker from UIN Jakarta, Prof. Atho Mudzhar, Prof. Arskal Salim, and Prof. Masykuri Abdillah from UIN Jakarta). Dozens of seminar presenters also did research results presentations in a number of panels.
Dean of FSH Dr. Phil. Asep Saepudin Jahar in his report said that this year's international conference was the second conference after being held the previous year. In contrast to the previous one, this year's conference highlighted human rights issues in terms of three topics, philanthropy and human rights for social justice, social and economic welfare, and law and human rights.
"Thank God, this year we again held an international conference. "Hopefully this forum will be a forum for exchanging positive ideas for human goals," he said.
Meanwhile, Yasonna in his opening speech welcomed the FSH UIN Jakarta initiative to hold a conference with a fairly actual theme. "We hope this forum provides positive ideas so as to create social justice in the nation," he said. (usa)
