Ciputat, UIN News Online – The Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has once again reinforced its teaching and learning infrastructure by inaugurating three new smart class rooms. The inauguration took place immediately following the ceremony commemorating Pancasila Sanctity Day on Thursday (01/10/2026). The addition of these classrooms resulted from collaborative partnerships across various stakeholders: two were granted as CSR support from Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), while the third room was donated by alumni. This facility enhancement forms part of the faculty's ongoing commitment to improving student comfort and engagement during academic activities.

The official inauguration of the infrastructure and facilities was led by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D.; Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi, S.Ag., S.H., M.H., M.A.; Dean of FSH, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Maksum, S.H., M.A., M.D.C.; FSH alumnus and Constitutional Judge, Dr. Wahiduddin Adams, S.H., M.A.; FSH alumnus and Independent Commissioner of BRI, Lukmanul Khakim; alongside members of the FSH UIN Jakarta academic community and executives from Bank BRI.

Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar commended FSH's initiative in expanding educational infrastructure and facilities. He emphasized that delivering basic facilities is a fundamental university responsibility in serving students.

“Standardized facilities across UIN—including clean restrooms, whiteboards, desks, and reliable internet connectivity—represent basic rights of students that must be fulfilled,” stated Prof. Asep.

Echoing this sentiment, Dean of FSH Prof. Muhammad Maksum stated that developing learning infrastructure reflects the faculty's drive to provide optimal services to students. According to him, comfortable learning spaces are expected to motivate students to engage more earnestly in the learning process and pursue academic excellence.

“Students represent a vital stakeholder in the execution of higher education and instruction,” he noted.

He added that students are future national leaders who acquire essential knowledge and leadership experience during their higher education journey. Consequently, providing adequate learning facilities serves as a crucial pillar in supporting the educational process.

Independent Commissioner of BRI Lukmanul Khakim expressed his delight at returning to campus while contributing to the expansion of educational facilities where he once studied. He noted that contributing to FSH represents a tangible gesture of dedication toward his alma mater. Furthermore, he encouraged UIN Jakarta alumni to excel across diverse professional fields, thereby broadening their societal impact while creating opportunities to support the growth of their alma mater.

A similar reflection was shared by Constitutional Judge Wahiduddin Adams. An alumnus who studied at the Official Academy of Religious Sciences (ADIA) in 1973, he previously served as a lecturer at FSH. He later forged a distinguished career in law and government, including serving as Director General of Legislation at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, as well as serving two terms as a Constitutional Judge.

The single smart class room he donated stands as part of his contribution to supporting student academic activities. Previously, Wahiduddin also facilitated the construction of the Constitutional Court Moot Courtroom within the FSH campus.

With the addition of these three rooms, FSH now features ten smart class facilities. These classrooms have been established through the support of multiple stakeholders, including the Ministry of Youth and Sports, former Supreme Court Justice Ahmad Sukardja, BRI, Wahiduddin Adams, as well as institutional funding from UIN Jakarta.

Beyond the smart class expansion, FSH has secured institutional support from various organizations to upgrade other educational facilities, including the development of the Constitutional Court Moot Courtroom and the establishment of The Gade Creative Lounge supported by PT Pegadaian Syariah Unit. These combined initiatives complement the faculty's ongoing commitment to delivering infrastructure that advances students' academic pursuits.
