FSH Lecturers to Strengthens Socil-legal and Anthropology Studies
FSH, UIN News Online – In order to strengthen lecturers' ability in law studies and research, the Faculty of Law and Sharia held an Intensive Legal Course: Socio-Legal and Legal Anthropology on Wednesday, July 12, 2018 in the Madya Room at 13.30-19.15 WIB. This event is a lecturer discussion forum which focuses on study and actual research of law with socio-legal approach and legal anthropology.
In particular, this event presents 2 (two) speakers, namely Rikardo Simarmata, SH, Ph.D., a lecturer at the Faculty of Law of Gadjah Mada University who presented a socio-legal study. Lidwina Inge Nurtjahyo, SH, M.Sc., a lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the University of Indonesia who presented legal anthropological material with moderator Hidayatulloh, MH, lecturer of FSH UIN Jakarta. Unlike the normative / doctrinal legal approach that analyzes the legal problems with legal norms / doctrines itself, socio-legal studies use social science approach in analyzing the legal issues in society or called interdisciplinary approach. The significance of this study is to dilute the polarity between the doctrinal and empirical approach by synergizing the two to explain a comprehensive legal issue. In addition, socio-legal can help the legal reform agenda as it explains why the legal system is ineffective and non-functional and then provides alternative ideas.
The anthropological approach to law aims to understand the legal phenomena in society by observing and analyzing individuals and / or community groups that are subject to the law. Legal anthropology learns about the laws that society constructs and lives in society. The discussion took place very interactively because it was attended by permanent and non-permanent lecturers. Faculty leaders also present, Dr. Asep Saepudin Jahar, Dr. Euis Amalia, and Dr. Ahmad Tholabi. Vice Rector for Academic Affairs represented by the Head of Bureau of Academic and Student Affairs Drs. Jaenal Arifin, M.Pd. In August the Intensive Legal Course will be held again by inviting experts and legal researchers to enrich the knowledge and insight of FSH lecturers. (usa)
