FOSSI-UIN Jakarta holds studium generale and maritime exhibition

Main Auditorium, UIN News Online – Indonesian Diving Association, in collaboration with UIN Jakarta holds studium generale and maritime exhibiton on Wednesday (07/10/2019) at Harun Nasution Auditorium, campus I of UIN Jakarta.

By raising the theme on “Mencintai Indonesia dari Kedalaman Laut dan Puncak Gunung”, this event present the chairman of FOSSI Buyung Lalana as keynote speaker. Also present in the event, Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis and Vice Rector for Student Affairs Masri Mansoer.

Rector in her remarks appreciates this positive activity. This event is also expected to increase our love for the nation. “We are all obliged to preserve the nature of the archipelago (Nusantara –ed), in addition to being an asset of the nation's wealth, preserving nature is also a part of worship, because it keeps the creation of Allah SWT,” said Rector.

She also added that in addition to the studium generale and maritime exhibition activities, both UIN Jakarta and FOSSI will carry out cooperation agreement.

“The cooperation will cover a variety of things, including the fields of maritime, education and natural research,” said Amany.

On the same occasion, the chairman of FOSSI Buyung Lalana expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome given by UIN Jakarta. He hopes that the activities can provide benefits to all parties involved

“As a human, we are obliged to preserve the nature. Nature is not simply a warehouse of resources to serve human needs. By preserving the nature, we can reap a lot of benefits, and keep natural ecosystems in harmony,” said Buyung.

Indonesia's strategic geographical location, Buyung added, is an invaluable gift. Therefore, we should be grateful for this by continuing to preserve nature.

“Indonesia is blessed with abundant natural resources and had the potential to lure a lot of local and foreign, which in turn will increase state revenues for the prosperity of the Indonesian people,” said Buyung. (usa)
