FK UIN Jakarta Holds Hippocratic Oath

Main Auditorium, UIN News Online – Faculty of Medicine of UIN Jakarta, holds Hippocratic Oath. As many as 67 doctors were sworn in the Hall of Harun Nasution Campus UIN Jakarta, Monday (04/23/2018).

"The best doctor who took the oath today is Ahmad Ilyas Saputra, alumni of the Program Beasiswa Santri Berprestasi (PBSB)," explained Head of Pesantren Education Directorate Basnang Said, representing Director Diniyah and Pontren  who unable to attended the event.

Ahmad Ilyas Saputra is a child of a simple family. His father was a farmer, while his mother took care of the house. Ilyas as he is addressed, is a graduate of Pondok Pesantren Darul Hijrah, Banjarmasin.

Ilyas was awarded a scholarship from the Ministry of Religious Santri in 2012. He finished his medical degree (S.Ked) in December 2014 and went to medical profession education. He officially bears a doctor since March 2018.

"Of the 67 doctors who took the oath, half of them are alumni of pesantren. And, 17 of them are alumni of PBSB Kemenag RI," said Basnang.

According to Basnang, doctor graduated from UIN different from doctors who graduate from other college. They are required to have the spirit of devotion and religious values ​​like santri. "They have the ability to integrate the values ​​of medicine with religion, and this is the plus of alumni of pesantren," he said.

Basnang who is also alumni of As'adiyah Sengkang pesantren hope the newly adopted doctors can continue their studies to the specialist level. According to him, the Government through the LPDP prepares a special budget for students to continue their study to S2 and S3 studies as well as doctor santri who will continue to the specialist level.

The taking of this oath is the first time held since the establishment of Medical Faculty UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Present in this title, Chairman of PB IDI, Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Dede Rosada, Director of Fatmawati Hospital, and Dean of Faculty of Medicine UIN Jakarta. (usa)
