FITK UIN Jakarta holds virtual prayer for the late Prof Dr Aminuddin Rasyad

FITK, UIN News Online – The Faculty of Educational Science (FITK) UIN Jakarta holds virtual prayer for the late Prof Dr Aminuddin Rasyad via Zoom Application on Thursday (09/24/2020).

Aminudin Rasyad, Professor of Education Science was born in Padang Panjang, West Sumatra in 1933 and passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at the age of 87. He had served as Dean of FITK UIN Jakarta for the period of 1983-1987. Since 1976, he was active as a Member of Survey and Research at IAIN Jakarta.

Also participating in the event, the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis, Chair of the UIN Jakarta SenateAbuddin Nata MA, Azyumardi Azra, Dede Rosyada, Munzier Suparta, Husni Rahim, and a number of lecturers as well as students of FITK UIN Jakarta.

Dean of FITK Sururin in her remarks expressed her condolences the passing of Prof. Aminuddin. When Prof. Aminuddin died, said Sururin, the FITK family could not attend due to unfavorable conditions and situations.

“Tonight, we are holding a joint prayer for the deceased. May Allah SWT accept his deeds, forgive all his sins and open the door to paradise for him,” she said.

In addition, continued Sururin, this event was held as a tribute to the deceased for dedicating himself to FITK and having many colleagues and students.

“This activity was a form of respect for Prof. Aminudin because he was very dedicated and had served as the Dean of FITK in 1987. He was our teacher,” she added.

Meanwhile, Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis appreciated the activity initiated by FITK. According to Amany, the deceased was a professor who provides wide contribution to FITK and UIN Jakarta.

“He is one of the early generations who had a big role in bringing UIN Jakarta to become what it is today,” said Rector.

On the same occasion, Dr Khodijah MA, one of the lecturers who was also his student, said that the deceased was a very inspiring figure.

“He always wants to create a fun and inspiring classroom atmosphere for his students. May Allah reward all his kindness,” said Khodijah. (usa/ap/mf)
