FITK UIN Jakarta Holds Scientific Fair

FITK, UIN News Online – In order to collaborate art and science, Physics Education department of the Faculty of Educational Sciences (FITK) UIN Jakarta holds Scientific Fair (PRI) 2017, Saturday-Monday, (10/7-9/2017) at campus I of UIN Jakarta.

PRI Executive Chairman Fajar Bagaskara explained that PRI is the biggest Physics Education Program event which has been successful in 2015-2016.

“Reflecting from the previous year, Physics Education continues to innovate by adding a form of art and science collaborative activity,” said Fajar to UIN News Online, Monday, (10/1/2017).

According to Fajar, the event is expected to increase interest in both science and arts, in addition to sharpen their skills in physics, the students can also hone their art skills in writing, photography, and public speaking.

He also added that this activity will consists of six concepts, namely Welcoming Party, Physics Olympiad, Essay, Project Physics Tools, Photography and Physics Stand Up Comedy.

“Participants will be greeted in a National Heroes Welcoming Party with a variety of typical Indonesian dishes and Indonesian cultural performances,” he explained.

For Physical Olympiad, it contains material on mechanics, vibration, wave, magnetic electricity, thermodynamics, optics, and modern physics.

For the Essay concept, it focuses on the theme of Komperasi Pendidikan di Indonesia dan di Negara Maju. The essay must be original and never been published.

In Physics Tool Project focuses on "Motion Kinetic" materials so that students can apply parabolic motion theory in a project and improve students' creativity.

“In order to be more fun and entertaining, our art concept is collaborated with Street Photography and Physics themed Stand Up Comedy,” he added.

This activity is planned to be followed by student representatives from every high schools or equal in Java and all civitas academica of UIN Jakarta. (usa)
