FISIP UIN Jakarta will organize the 5th ICSPS

FISIP, UIN News Online – The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UIN Jakarta will organize the 5th International Conference on Social and Political Sciences (ICSPS 2019) with the theme “New Social Movement: New Direction of Civil Society, the State and Socio-Political Integration”, on Tuesday (11/12/2019), held at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, campus II of UIN Jakarta.

Based on the release obtained by UIN News Online on Wednesday (10/22/2019), this conference will provide a space in which to discuss why some social movements succeed and others fail and to explore the impact of social movements might have on the contemporary social, economic and political changes.

The conference will covers 12 sub-themes, namely Poverty, Legal Aid and Institutional Reform; Activism of Civil Society and the Challenges of Socio-Political Integration; Resources, Development and Environmental Politics; Resources, Development and Environmental Politics; Shaping New Social Arena: Resource Mobilization Agenda in Industrial Revolution 4.0; Labor, Capitalism and the Struggle for Social Transformation; New Debates on Feminism, Women’s Movement and Gender Equality; Revitalizing Old Networks for New Politics of the Nation-States; Forming Social Movement: the Use of Virtual Media for Public Good; Transnational Movement and Peace In the New World Order; From National Civil Society to Global Education Networks; Multiculturalism, Tolerance and the Trends in Justice and Equality.

Moreover, the conference will invite a number of speakers; among them are Amany Lubis (Rector of UIN Jakarta, Indonesia), Rachel Rinaldo (University of Colorado Boulder, USA), Okamoto Masaaki (Center for Southeast Asian Studies Kyoto University, Japan) and Airlangga Pribadi Kusman (Airlangga University, Indonesia).
