FISIP UIN Jakarta Holds Studium General on Indonesian Foreign Policy
FISIP, UIN News Online – Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a general study discussing Indonesian Foreign Policy Regarding Geopolitical Issues in the Indo Pacific. This event took place on October 17, 2018 at 09.00 - 12.00 WIB at the Intermediate Hall of FISIP UIN Jakarta.
In this event invited speakers namely Prof. Dr. Aleksius Jemadu, Ph.D. and moderated by Ahmad Alfajri, MA from the Head of the Department of International Relations FISIP UIN Jakarta. The series of events was opened by the Head of International Relations Department, Ahmad Alfajri, MA. the general studium event is the annual agenda of FISIP and takes the form of a panel discussion.
Prof. Dr. Aleksius Jemadu, Ph.D in his presentation emphasized that Indonesia has publicly stated the initiative to build Indo-Pacific cooperation that is free, open, inclusive and comprehensive and maintains the mechanisms that are built by ASEAN as the most realistic institutional choice to accommodate it.
"The geopolitical aspirations of the big countries that form discourses on the Indo-Pacific which in turn affect the behavior of countries in the region will continue to grow and necessitate the need for cooperation so that no conflict will be harmful to all parties", said Aleksius.
Based on monitoring, it was seen that the participants were very enthusiastic in following the course. This is evidenced by the many questions raised by the participants to the speakers. (usa)
