FISIP UIN Jakarta Holds International Seminar
FISIP Auditorium, UIN NEWS online- Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisip) UIN Jakarta hold an international seminar on the theme The Nagorno Karabach Conflict and Screening of documentary films: Endless Corridor. The event was opened by the Dean of Fisip Prof Dr Dzulkifli, MA on Tuesday (07/03), at the Auditorium of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences in Campus II UIN Jakarta.
The seminar was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Indonesia Tamerlan Garayev H. E., Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Indonesia in Jakarta Ruslan Nasibov, the staff, journalists, NGOs, and all the academicians of UIN Jakarta.
In his speech, the Dean appreciated the implementation of the seminar. According to him, this international forum is important for UIN Jakarta in an effort to give an end the long-drawn conflict.
"We all know that the Rights of the Azerbaijan nation was seized and desecrated by Armenia. So we pray that Azerbaijan and its people is able to secure and prepare themselves to what might happen in the future, "said the Dean.
He added, UIN Jakarta is ready to establish cooperation with Azerbaijan, especially in the development of education, research, or other part of cooperation that is associated with science.
In the same place, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Indonesia Dr Tamerlan thanked to UIN Jakarta that have empathy for what happening to the country.
He said that Karabach is the largest province in Azerbaijan, while Nagorno also means mountain or a tribe in the mountainous regions. In which this province has been occupied by Armenian troops.
"On historial time , Islam once ruled and reigned with a very strong and glorious. This was at the time of the Ottoman Empire. But now Islam has many divided and pressed. Azerbaijan itself is a country of multi-cultural and multi-ethnic, " he said in front of the participants.
In line with Tamerlan explication, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Indonesia, Ruslan Nasibov added that for nearly 25 years of conflict, the United Nations should be able to immediately resolve these conflicts, and withdraw the Armenian troops from Azerbaijan.
"Supposedly, there are those responsible for the massacre that took place in Azerbaijan along before. Because this case is very important for the ending and find a solution which will bring peace to the citizens of Azerbaijan, "he hoped.
For information, at the end of the seminar was also screened a documentary about the slaughter of citizens of Azerbaijan in a city, called Khojaly District that triggered the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan in 1992. The film, told by the journalist showed the Azerbaijanis were slaughtered and tortured, almost 700an lives lost during the conflict and 150 are still missing. (im)
