She added that the International Adjunct Professor program benefits not only students, who gain direct learning experiences with an international academic, but also faculty members, who have opportunities to develop their research capabilities, improve scientific writing skills, and publish their work in reputable scholarly journals.
“Through this program, we want to encourage students to develop a broader understanding of global developments in pharmaceutical sciences. For our faculty members, this initiative also offers an opportunity to strengthen research quality, improve their ability to develop competitive research proposals, and build sustainable academic collaborations,” she added.

Advancing Research and Scholarly Publications
In addition to classroom instruction, the program features several activities aimed at improving research quality and scholarly publications. These include research supervision sessions, faculty manuscript reviews, a manuscript submission clinic, academic collaboration meetings, and research and publication mentoring.
Through these activities, lecturers and students will have opportunities to discuss research ideas, improve the quality of scientific writing, and learn strategies for preparing and submitting manuscripts to academic journals. Direct engagement with an international professor is also expected to create opportunities for joint research and expand academic networks across countries.
The program also serves as a platform for bringing together diverse scholarly perspectives and academic experiences from different higher education institutions. Its benefits therefore extend beyond knowledge exchange in the classroom to include strengthening the research culture and fostering international partnerships.
Through the International Adjunct Professor program, FIKES UIN Jakarta continues to promote an academic environment that embraces global developments in health sciences and technology. This initiative is expected to enhance graduates’ competitiveness, strengthen research quality, and encourage innovations in healthcare that benefit society. (Julia Herniwati/ZM)
