FIKES UIN Jakarta implements the Kampung Santri program

Ciputat, UIN News Online – To control the spread of Covid-19 in Tangerang Regency, PPN community of FIKES UIN Jakarta implemented the Kampung Santri program as a Community Based Research Strategy.

The Kampung Santri person in charge Karyadi, revealed that this activity was carried out through an inter-professional collaboration strategy with a stage I approach, namely the academy-community. This strategy is considered as one of the most effective strategies, with the concept of community based research.

Karyadi explained that the combination of research and community service was carried out by involving various local communities such as the Forum Silaturahmi Tangerang (FSPT), Alumni 88 SMP Tigaraksa, Alumni Nebal 91, PPNI, Rumah Sunat, Ambulance 118, and IAKMI.

“This activity takes the icon of the santri village, this icon is in accordance with the identity of UIN as an Islamic university. This icon is also hoped to be the mission of UIN Jakarta, to raise a culture of santri in the Tangerang district,” he said on Monday (08/03/2020).

On the same occasion, the Department head of Nurse Study program Jamaludin hopes that all study programs at UIN Jakarta can collaborate so that this program can be used as a collaborative activity between professions as early as possible.

Currently, Jamaludin said, the number of community PPN programs is divided into two groups, one group in Cisoka District and the other group placed in the Tigaraksa District area.

“Students carry out activities with systematic steps, starting from secondary issue exploration, primary issue exploration through FGD in the form of the 1st mini workshop, making instruments, testing instruments, followed by data collection, filtering the priority problems and, joint action plans along with the community and religious leaders as well as various local government elements in the 2nd mini-workshop activity,” he said

Activities and result evaluation will be carried out through the third mini workshop. These activities are carried out within a period of one and a half months, starting from July to mid-August 2020.

Meanwhile, the Dean of FIKES UIN Jakarta Zilhadia revealed that she really appreciated the activity. According to Zilhadia, health students must be introduced to various kinds of problems before they actually become real health workers. This activity, she added, is a learning strategy that is applied at the FIKES UIN Jakarta, which is known as problem based learning.

“Students are triggered with various kinds of problems so that they will have critical thinking skills and be able to face various health problems such as epidemics and pandemics after they graduated from FIKES UIN Jakarta”, she said. (usa/ms/mcm)
