FIKES UIN Jakarta Establishes Strategic Collaboration with PT Kimia Farma

Jakarta, UIN Online News – The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has entered into a strategic collaboration with PT Kimia Farma Tbk, a state-owned pharmaceutical company headquartered on Jl. Veteran, Gambir, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (April 30, 2025). This partnership aims to strengthen education and community service programs based on research initiatives promoted by FIKES UIN Jakarta.

The collaboration initiative was presented directly by the Dean of FIKES, Prof. Dr. apt. Zilhadia, M.Si., in a discussion forum with PT Kimia Farma’s leadership, including Commissioner Suprianto, Commercial Director Chairani Harahap, and Operational Director Tomi Faisal.

Prof. Zilhadia emphasized that the collaboration is intended to reinforce the university’s Tri Dharma (three pillars) of higher education, especially community service involving industry experts. Additionally, the partnership is expected to open up internship opportunities for students, support the development of foster villages, and establish a teaching industry within the faculty.

“We hope this collaboration allows Kimia Farma to be an active partner in community service, provide expert speakers from the industry, and offer internship placements for FIKES students. We also aim to jointly develop a foster village in the Banten area as a model of collaboration between FIKES and Kimia Farma,” said Prof. Zilhadia.

Responding to the proposal, Kimia Farma’s leadership expressed strong interest in the partnership. Chairani Harahap stated that they are ready to move the initiative forward through a formal memorandum of understanding (MoU).

“Thank you for the very informative presentation. We now have a better understanding of FIKES UIN Jakarta and its potential. We will bring this initiative to our management and team to be formalized through an MoU, ensuring a more structured and effective collaboration,” said Chairani.

For reference, PT Kimia Farma Tbk is a subsidiary of the state-owned pharmaceutical holding company, Bio Farma. It operates an extensive network including 12 factories, 1,278 pharmacies, 451 health clinics, 75 clinical laboratories, 10 optical centers, and 3 beauty clinics across Indonesia.

With such vast potential, the collaboration between FIKES UIN Jakarta and Kimia Farma is expected to significantly contribute to applied research and community engagement initiatives.
