Rectorate, UIN News Online – Faculty of Health Sciences (Fikes) in collaboration with Faculty of Medicine (FK) UIN Jakarta holds UIN Health Collaborative 2021 webinar titled “Implementation of Interprofessional Education (IPE) and Interprofessional Collaboration (IPC) in Today’s Health Care System.” On Saturday (03/27/2021) through zoom application.

Dean of Fikes UIN Jakarta, Zilhadia, in her opening remarks said that collaboration is very important in the health profession, health worker cannot work alone according to their respective professions.

“We are very happy that students have such a far-reaching vision to see that IPE and IPC are initiated to prepare more professional health workers,” said Zilhadia.

This webinar presented two presenters who have a background in medical education, Amandha Boy Timor Randita and Mahesa Paranadipa Maikel.

In his presentation, Boy Timor delivered material on the concepts of IPE (Interprofessional Education) and IPC (Interprofessional Collaboration). According to Boy, students must be familiar with the concepts of IPE and IPC. He also explained the benefits and tips in implementing IPE and IPC in the health sector. “All health professionals must be able to go hand in hand to collaborate,” he said.

He also added that in collaborating, we must be able to identify our own strengths and weaknesses, and open our minds to receive input from other health professions.

Meanwhile, Mahesa discussed policies to support IPC and IPE in the health sector. According to Mahesa, regulations in supporting the formation of Interprofessional Education and Interprofessional Collaboration are considered to be very lacking.

Mahesa also took a little bit into the current situation, where a pandemic situation like this really needs collaboration between health practitioners. This is due to the limited number of medical and health personnel who can treat the COVID-19 patients.

“Islam always encourages us to unite, especially in this kind of situation. Therefore, let's collaborate for the common good,” said Mahesa. (usa/mf)
