Fidikom-KBIHU DKI Holds Hajj and Umrah guide certification program

Jakarta, UIN News Online – Faculty of Da’wa and Communication Science of UIN Jakarta, in collaboration with Hajj and Umrah Guidance Communication Forum (DPW FK KBIHU) DKI Jakarta organize the 3rd batch of Professional Haj and Umrah guide certification program on 10-18 December 2020. The activity was attended by 120 participants from various Hajj and Umrah guidance groups throughout Jakarta.

The event which took place on Thursday (12/10/2020) at the Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory, East Jakarta was attended by the Acting Director General of Haj and Umrah (PHU), the Indonesian Ministry of Religion affairs Oman Fathurahman, Chair of the DPW FK KBIHU DKI Jakarta Province, M Machdum, Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis and Dean of Fidikom UIN Jakarta Suparto.

Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis in her remarks said, the number of Indonesian pilgrims was the largest in the world and was well managed. Therefore, Amany hopes that efforts to maintain the quality of Hajj management in Indonesia need to be maintained and improved.

“We must maintain the quality of the Hajj management, including the guides. They must be professional in serving the congregation,” said Rector Amany.

Representing the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, Oman Fathurahman said, referring to Law Number 8 of 2019 concerning on the Implementation of Hajj and Umrah, the Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs ensures that this certification program will be useful for participants in serving and guiding the Haj pilgrims.

“This program has many benefits. Not only for the guides, but also for the Haj and Umrah pilgrims,” Said Oman.

Separately, Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni and Cooperation of Fidikom UIN Jakarta Cecep Sastrawijaya said that the implementation of the Haj and Umrah supervisor certification program carried out by Fidikom and DPW FK KBIHU DKI Jakarta is considered very strategic. This shows that Fidikom UIN Jakarta has qualified human resources in the field of Hajj and Umrah management.

Moreover, continued Cecep, Fidikom now has a concentration in Hajj and Umrah Management Studies under the Da'wah Management Study Program. This concentration is expected to produce candidates for guides and hajj and umrah management in a professional manner.

“In this collaboration, the Fidikom team was asked to compile a curriculum, resource persons and assessors,” said Cecep. (usa/ns)
