FEB UIN Jakarta-BI Institute holds the 6th ISEF
FEB, UIN News Online – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UIN Jakarta, in collaboration with the BI Institute holds the 6th Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF) with the theme “Embracing Shariah Economy as a New Engine towards Strong Sustainable and Inclusive Growth” , Thursday (11/14/2019) at the Harun Nasution Auditorium, campus I of UIN Jakarta.
Moderated by Nadratuzzaman Hosen, the seminar invites Habib Ahmed (Durham University,UK) as a keynote speaker. Also present in the event, Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis.
Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis in her welcoming speech said that said that Indonesian people have low public trust in Islamic financial institutions.
“The public has more confidence in conventional banks. The market share for sharia banking is below 10%, while Indonesia has the largest Muslim population,” said Rector.
Rector also added that public trust in Islamic financial institutions must be improved so that the financial markets of this Muslim-majority country can be utilized properly.
“The Islamic financial industry must improve their information technology in Islamic financial services in order to reach the wider community. I am optimistic that the national Islamic financial industry still has bright prospects for the future” said Amany. (usa/zm)
