Featuring the Chairman of the KPK Deputy: FAH UIN Jakarta Voices Anti-Corruption Spirit for Freshmen during PBAK 2025

Syahida Inn, UIN Online News — The Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta welcomed the Deputy Chairperson of Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) during the Introduction to Academic Culture and Student Affairs (PBAK) 2025 as the faculty program on Thursday (August 28, 2025).

One of the main highlights of PBAK 2025 among FAH freshmen was a public lecture delivered by Ibnu Basuki Widodo, who spoke on the importance of cultivating an anti-corruption mindset from an early stage. His presentation added a distinctive touch to the program and served as a meaningful moment for freshmen to understand their strategic role in upholding the nation’s integrity.

In his remarks, the Dean of FAH, Dr. Ade Abdul Hak, S.Ag., S.S., M.Hum., CIQnR., expressed his deep appreciation for KPK’s willingness to engage with the new students. He noted that this collaboration reflects the essential partnership between educational institutions and state agencies in fostering a generation with strong integrity.

"We warmly welcome the presence of KPK at FAH UIN Jakarta. This moment not only strengthens our ties but also marks an important step in instilling anti-corruption values in our students from their very first day in academia," he opened.

Ibnu Basuki Widodo emphasized that universities serve as the final stronghold of common sense. He highlighted that students must excel not only academically but also morally, by rejecting all forms of corruption.

"Today’s students are the leaders of tomorrow. Therefore, building an anti-corruption commitment during college years is a vital step toward a better Indonesia," he remarked.

He also urged students to instill honesty, discipline, and responsibility in every aspect of their lives. According to him, these values are the cornerstone of creating a generation free from corruption and capable of becoming agents of change in society.

"Students must have the courage to uphold honesty, discipline, and responsibility in all aspects of life. These values are the key to building a generation free from corruption and ready to drive positive change," he added.

The event also provided students with the opportunity to directly engage in dialogue with KPK representatives. Many of the questions raised were critical and reflective, showing the students’ strong concern for corruption eradication and their awareness of the importance of fostering a culture of integrity on campus.
