Featuring PPATK: Faculty of Economics and Business Students Explore Digital Transformation of Financial Supervision

Jakarta, UIN Online News — The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta reaffirmed its commitment to strengthen practical learning by organizing a company visit on the digital transformation of financial transaction oversight at the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) in Central Jakarta on Friday (19/09/2025).

At PPATK headquarters, the FEB student delegation was welcomed by a senior analyst, Steffi Edwar, who expressed appreciation and gratitude for the participation of both faculty members and students.

“We thank the lecturers and students from UIN Jakarta’s Faculty of Economics and Business for taking the time to attend this academic activity. Together with our colleagues, Mr. Irwan and Ms. Anis, we will provide an overview of how financial transactions are tracked in Indonesia,” she opened.

Murdiyah Hayati, M.M., Head of the Management Study Program, explained that the visit is part of the faculty’s academic strategy to provide students with real-world experience.

“This visit to PPATK is an effort by our study programs to give students firsthand knowledge of financial transaction oversight in Indonesia. Thus, this initiative allows economics students to gain direct knowledge of the dynamics of financial transaction flows in Indonesia and their supervisory mechanisms,” she explained.

This statement was further supported by Arief Fitrijanto, S.Si., M.Si., Head of the Development Economics Study Program, who noted that the visit offered students a valuable opportunity to broaden their academic perspective while better understanding the role of state institutions in safeguarding national financial stability.

“Through this visit, students expand their academic insights and gain closer awareness of the strategic role played by state institutions in ensuring transparency and accountability within the financial system. I hope this experience equips them to connect economic concepts studied in class with real-world policy and practice,” he remarked.

The program featured an interactive format, including presentations, discussions, and Q&A sessions. Students enthusiastically asked questions on topics such as the challenges PPATK faces in countering new forms of digital financial crime, the use of big data and artificial intelligence, and the importance of inter-agency collaboration in maintaining financial system stability.

Through this initiative, FEB UIN Jakarta aims to inspire its students to further develop their academic competencies while cultivating sensitivity to strategic issues that benefit Indonesia’s economy.
