Jakarta, UIN Online News — The Faculty of Da'wah and Communication Sciences (FDIKOM) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and the Regional Leadership Council of the Communication Forum for Hajj and Umrah Guidance Groups (DPW FK KBIHU) DKI Jakarta have renewed their strategic joint program to conduct the 15th Batch of Hajj and Umrah Manasik Guide Certification on Tuesday (August 5, 2025).

This collaboration signifies the third extension between the two sides and will occur from October 6 to 15, 2025. This certification initiative has established a recurring annual agenda aimed at enhancing the competence, professionalism, and service quality of Hajj and Umrah guides.

The meeting to discuss collaboration was attended by the leadership of the DKI Jakarta DPW KBIHU, including Chairman, KH. Haidi Arief; Secretary; KH. Agus Dani, KH. Abdul Halik, Ust. Drs. K.H. Ahmad Fikri Amin, Ust. Hendri; and Treasurer, Ustadzah Dedeh. Dean of FDIKOM, Prof. Dr. Gun Gun Heryanto, M.Si., along with the academic leadership, program heads, and lecturers from Da'wah Management, represented UIN Jakarta.

The Head of the DKI Jakarta KBIHU Regional Executive Board, KH. Haidi Arief, asserted that the purpose of certification is to foster the development of skilled, resilient, and professional guides.

"Teaching must be in line with the capacity to apply that knowledge in actual practice. Every mentor must serve as a role model for their students," he stated.

Prof. Dr. Gun Gun Heryanto, M.Si., the Dean of FDIKOM UIN Jakarta, underscored the necessity of an ongoing assessment of mentors' performance, encompassing both intellectual and emotional dimensions.

"It is essential for us to consistently assess the experiences of the Hajj pilgrimage mentors, encompassing both the intellectual and emotional dimensions. Possessing such exceptional technical mentoring skills has become commonplace. The true challenge lies in thoroughly educating the congregation and enhancing guidance services," he added.

He asserts that the collaboration between UIN Jakarta and KBIHU DKI Jakarta has transcended mere formality.

"This is not merely a short term agreement, but a mutually reinforcing and sustained cross-institutional relationship. Currently, there are no substantial impediments obstructing the advancement of collaboration in the future," he asserted.

Prof. Gun Gun then advocated all participants of hajj and umrah to fully finish the certification step as a commitment in upholding quality and professionalism.

"All participants of hajj and umrah guides are required to complete this certification in its entirety. In this way, we can maintain the sincerity of our worship," he concluded.

The occasion was then culminated by signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), a group photo session, and a prayer for the successful execution of the certification program.  Through this relationship, both sides aspire to further the development of  exemplary Hajj and Umrah mentors who can serve as reliable and committed agents of Islamic ceremonials.
