FDI UIN Jakarta Earns ACQUIN International Accreditation, Strengthening Its Global Academic Standing
FDI, UIN Online News — The Faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah (FDI) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has achieved another international milestone by receiving international accreditation from ACQUIN (Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute), a Germany-based quality assurance agency dedicated to evaluating and accrediting higher education institutions.
The achievement was formalized through a decision issued by the ACQUIN Accreditation Commission, signed by Prof. Dr. Aloys Krieg, Chairman of the Board. Under the commission's decision, both the Undergraduate (S1) and Master's (S2) programs of the Faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah were confirmed to have fulfilled internationally recognized quality standards, with the accreditation remaining valid until 30 September 2031.
Dean of the Faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah, Dr. Yuli Yasin, M.A., described the accreditation as the result of the collective commitment and sustained efforts of the faculty's academic community in maintaining educational excellence. He noted that the international recognition demonstrates that FDI's academic programs meet the quality standards expected of globally recognized higher education institutions.
"Receiving ACQUIN accreditation marks an important milestone for the Faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah as we continue to enhance the international relevance of our graduates. It demonstrates that our Islamic studies curriculum is not only academically rigorous but also complies with internationally recognized quality assurance standards," he said.
He further explained that the accreditation was awarded following a comprehensive evaluation covering multiple aspects of academic quality, including curriculum design, research productivity, teaching effectiveness, faculty governance, and support for student development and extracurricular activities.
The Faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah occupies a distinctive position within UIN Jakarta as an academic replication of the Faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah at Al-Azhar University, Egypt. As one of the university's flagship faculties, FDI combines the rich traditions of Islamic scholarship with Indonesian perspectives through a curriculum delivered entirely in Arabic, providing students with an immersive academic environment rooted in both classical and contemporary Islamic studies.
Founded on internationally recognized quality assurance principles, ACQUIN has been a member of the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) since 2009. The agency evaluates multidisciplinary academic programs to ensure that accredited institutions maintain qualifications and educational standards that are comparable across the global higher education landscape.
