FAH UIN Jakarta Holds Book Review

Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN News Online – The Faculty of Literature and Humanities (FAH) UIN Jakarta held a book review entitled Dari Tahapan Tradisi ke Transformasi Sejarah Fakultas Adab dan Humaniora at Harun Nasution Main Auditorium, campus I of UIN Jakarta, Wednesday (9/13/2017).

Present in the event, Dean of FAH as well as the book author Prof Dr Sukron Kamil, Prof Fachry Ali as the book reviewer, Mauludin Anwar (Head of News Production Liputan 6 SCTV), Tb H Ace Hasan Syadzily (Member of DPR RI), and a number of FAH UIN Jakarta former Deans.

In his presentation, the authors say that the book was composed due to concerns over the absence of a book that tells about the history of FAH UIN Jakarta in details. According to him, his is an irony because FAH UIN Jakarta has SPI (History of Islamic Civilization), BSA (Arabic Language and Literature), Tarjamah (Translation), and SI (English Literature) deparments.

“This book is focusing on continuity and transformation of FAH UIN Jakarta for 60 years since its establishment, by dividing it up at the stage of tradition (the creation of intellectual scholars (1957-1998) and the stage of transformation (the intellectual creation of the ulemas or IAIN wider mandate (1998-present),” he said.

In the same place, Fachry Ali responds that this book indirectly maintains FAH's history line which is the second oldest faculty after the Faculty of Educanional Sciences (FITK).

“Generally, I appreciate the book, which I think the book is highly representative for readers to know the history of FAH from time to time,” said Fachry.

Based on UIN News Online observation, the participants were very enthusiastic to follow the event. This is evidenced by the increasing number of participants. (usa)
