Faculty of Psychology and Health UIN Surabaya deletagtion visit Faculty of Psychology UIN Jakarta

FPSI, UIN News Online –  To get to know the Faculty of Psychology UIN Jakarta more closely, especially those related to curriculum, academic policy, and the development and governance of institutions, academic team from the Faculty of Psychology and Health UIN Jakarta conducts benchmarking visit to the Faculty of Psychology, campus II of UIN Jakarta, Thursday (10/17/2019).

The group, led by Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Abdul Muhid was warmly welcomed by Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Bambang Suryadi, Vice Dean for General Administration Yufi Adriani, accompanied by Secretary of the S1 Study Program Desi Yustari Muchtar, Chair of the Masters Study Program Gazi Solicha.

“We deliberately chose the UIN Jakarta Faculty of Psychology as a benchmarking target because the UIN Jakarta Faculty of Psychology is the only A accredited psychology faculty in the State Islamic Religious Higher Education Institution (PTKIN),” said Abdul Muhid.

In response, Bambang Suryadi explained that the establishment of the faculty of psychology was pioneered since 1995, as one of the majors at the Faculty of Tarbiyah. Along with the transformation of IAIN into UIN in 2002, the psychology department became the Faculty of Psychology. Although still relatively young, this faculty of psychology has become one of the most well-known faculties in Indonesia.

The rapid development of the Faculty of Psychology of UIN Jakarta as it is now, according to Bambang, is because the faculty leaders, from the beginning until now always have clear policies, focus and direction in the development of faculty.

“We always prioritize quality over quantity, maintaining the quality of graduates, carrying out regeneration and human capital investment, and applying good governance principle,” he said.

Besides conducting dialogue, the academic team from the Faculty of Psychology and Health of UIN Surabaya also visited the psychology laboratory located on the fourth floor of the Faculty of Psychology building. According to Yufi Adriani, besides having a psychology laboratory, the Faculty of Psychology of UIN Jakarta also has a Center for Psychological Services (PLP).

“Alhamdulillah, people's trust in PLP has increased. This is evidenced by many government institutions, both at the central and regional levels that use the services of PLP, especially in the field of assessment,” said Yufi. (usa/bs)
