Faculty of Medicine UIN Jakarta Holds the 49th Hippocratic Oath Ceremony

Faculty of Medicine, UIN News Online - Thirteen prospective physicians from the Faculty of Medicine (FK) UIN Jakarta took their oaths in the Hippocratic Oath ceremony on Monday, July 21, 2024.

The thirteen new physicians who took the oath are Dr. Adinda Shafira Fauziah, dr. Afifah Nareswari, dr. Alfi Syahri Lubis, dr. Anandita Azka Aini, dr. Andi Nabila Tri Ananda, dr. Aristya Cahyaningsih, dr. Danu Pratama Lesmana, dr. Farah Dita Anggraini, dr. Muhammad Adib Naufal, dr. Nabila Nibroos, dr. Nurul Hanifah Agus, dr. Riska Afifah, and dr. Trisna Amerdista.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, MA, Ph.D, along with representatives from various educational and medical institutions. Some of the notable attendees included dr. Andi Wahyuningsih Attas, Sp.An., Chairperson of the Indonesian Association of Teaching Hospitals, dr. Brevita Bismedi, Sp.Bp., Chairperson of the Coordination Committee for Education at Fatmawati Central General Hospital, and Dr. Fajar Siddiq, Chairperson of the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) Tangerang Selatan City.

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine UIN Jakarta, dr. Achmad Zaki, M.Epid., Sp.OT., expressed his gratitude to the educators, administrative staff, and personnel of the Faculty of Medicine UIN Jakarta who have guided and assisted the prospective physicians throughout their journey to the oath-taking stage. He also appreciated the efforts and struggles of the prospective physicians who were about to take the oath.

"I believe your presence here is the result of hard work and sacrifice, with all its meanings. Believe that your efforts and sacrifices will bear success," he said.

He also emphasized that the success of the physicians is due to Allah's help, and one way to show gratitude for this help is to fully dedicate themselves to serving the community in need.

After delivering his speech, the Dean of FK UIN Jakarta continued the event by leading the Hippocratic Oath-taking ceremony. During this process, the prospective physicians took their oath with the Holy Quran held above their heads.

The new physicians recited thirteen points of the Hippocratic Oath, some of which included promises to dedicate their lives to humanity, uphold the dignity of the medical profession, prioritize the interests of society, and respect every human life.

After the oath recitation, the signing of the Hippocratic Oath document was conducted by the Dean of FK and representatives of the new physicians, namely dr. Muhammad Adib Naufal and dr. Anandita Azka Aini.

One of the new physicians in the 49th Hippocratic Oath ceremony, dr. Danu Pratama Lesmana, delivered a speech on behalf of the new physicians. He stated that physicians from UIN Jakarta must embody the behavior of both a physician and a Muslim.

"We are Muslim physicians, who must uphold Islamic principles as well as medical ethics. We reflect the behavior of Muslim physicians to the community. Wherever we go, we will always carry the alma mater of FK UIN Jakarta with us," he said.
