Experts: 21st Century Education Should be Based on Information Technology

Main Auditorium, UIN News Online – The teacher is a facilitator and technology should be able to become a center of information on how the teacher should be able to obtain lots of information to create the technology-based teaching materials. This is in line with Permendikbud No 68, 2014 and No 45, 2015 about the issuance of Information and Communication (TIK) subject for the teachers.

It was conveyed by the President Director of PT. Eduspec Indonesia  Indra Charismiadji during his presentation in seminar which organized by the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teachers Training (FITK) UIN Jakarta, Tuesday, (2/21) at Harun Nasution Auditorium, Campus I UIN Jakarta.

The seminar that was held in order to celebrate the 60th FITK anniversary presents two experts in the field of information technology as keynote speaker; they are Indra Charismiadji (Director Eduspec premises) and Obert Hoseanto (representative of Microsoft Indonesia).

He also added that the teachers In Indonesia are expected to seek a new solutions of teaching, when compared with other Asian Counties, Indonesia is still left behind.

“Each must have seven major skills as the international standard of teachers, such as critical thinking, creative, communication, collaboration, cross cultural understanding, computer and digital literacy, career and learning familiarity,” he said.

On the same occasion, Obert Hoseanto emphasized that the change of era has shifted the learning paradigm in which technology has become a trend and can be accessed by everyone.

“The development model of today's technology is more advanced and can be used as an alternative to facilitate students and teachers in teaching and learning activities,” he said. (usa)
