Enhancing Cooperation in Education, Research, and Community Service: UIN Jakarta Signs MoU with BPKH

Main Courtroom, UIN Online News - UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) have reached an agreement to formalize their collaboration via a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing cooperation in education, research, and community service.

It was signed at the Main Meeting Room of the Rectorate Building on Thursday (27/2/2025) by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., and the Head of the BPKH Executive Agency, Dr. Fadlul Imansyah, M.M., B.Ec., CFP., Acct.

The signing process was witnessed in the presence of the principal authorities from UIN Jakarta: Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Affairs at UIN Jakarta, Din Wahid, M.A., Ph.D.; Head of the Bureau of Academic Administration, Student Affairs, and Cooperation (AAKK), Dr. Hj. Sri Ilham Lubis, Lc., M.R.E.; Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Prof. Dr. Ibnu Qizam, M.Sc., Acct., CA. Attending from BPKH were Executive Board Member Prof. Dr. H. M. Arief Mufraini, Lc., M.Sc., Head of the Institutional Relations Division, Nurul Qoyimah, and other chairmen.

Asep Saipudin Jahar underscored that the signing of the agreement of cooperation represents a significant development in promoting the sustainability of education, especially regarding students' campus amenities and requirements financing.

"Numerous tasks must be addressed by UIN Jakarta, as well as initiatives relating to community service. Consequently, the enhancement of three duties of UIN Jakarta would improve significantly," the rector of UIN Jakarta explained.

On the other side, Fadlul Imansyah underscored the need for more transparency between the two parties. He said that UIN Jakarta had the greatest demographic inside the BPKH ecosystem, with several academic personnel from UIN Jakarta participating in the organization he now oversees, rendering this collaboration a crucial initiative.

"UIN Jakarta has consistently supported BPKH, and this support requires enhancement via intensified collaboration. Numerous studies can be undertaken concurrently, encompassing training, research, community service, and competency development," the head of the BPKH Executive Agency said.

Moreover, he also emphasized other specific initiatives that would be established via this partnership, including financial education for haj inside the "Haji Muda" program for students, recruitment of haj workers, and support mechanisms for academic staff or instructors desiring to do the haj pilgrimage.

For information, BPKH is a governmental entity responsible for the administration of hajj money. The establishment of this institution aimed to manage hajj finances, which includes planning, overseeing, reporting, and ensuring accountability for the receipt, development, and spending of Indonesia's hajj funds.

Through this agreement, BPKH will sponsor scholarship and internship programs for UIN Jakarta students to augment human resource capacity in Islamic economics and finance.
