Enforcing Digital Governance: UIN Jakarta Integrates Custom E-SPMI System to Streamline National Accreditation Standards
Adia Suites Ballroom, UIN Online News – UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta officially rolled out an orientation briefing for its proprietary Internal Quality Assurance Electronic System, known as E-SPMI. Held at the Adia Suites Ballroom on Thursday, June 4, 2026, the strategic deployment aims to ensure that all academic study programs across the university systematically comply with the highest professional standards of modern education. The customized E-SPMI ecosystem was co-developed by UIN Jakarta in partnership with tech enterprise Solusi Kampus Indonesia (SKI).
The high-level gathering was attended by the Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tholabi, and the Head of the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM), Prof. Dr. Khamami Zada. Managing the technical architecture were the Head of the Audit and Quality Control Center at LPM, Edi Sanjaya, and the Head of the Information Technology and Database Center (Pustipanda), Tri Singgih Pramono, alongside academic department chairs and secretaries serving as primary users.
The Head of the Audit and Quality Control Center at LPM, Edi Sanjaya, clarified that E-SPMI represents an evolutionary, fully integrated upgrade from its predecessor framework, the Student and Academic Information System (SIKA), following a strategic memorandum of understanding with tech vendor SKI.
“Consequently, all data from our central database ecosystem, E-Semesta, will flow seamlessly into the SPMI infrastructure. This ensures that every layer of governance at UIN Jakarta is measured systematically by the central assurance framework, meeting the absolute requirements for the new version 5.1 accreditation mandate issued by the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN-PT). This updated framework strictly demands two baseline indicators: an operational internal quality assurance system and a standardized curriculum,” he explained.
Expanding on the technical mechanics, the Coordinator for Accreditation and Institutional Ranking at LPM, Riyan Adi Putra, stated that executing rigorous internal quality audits necessitates a robust digital pipeline like E-SPMI. Operating as a direct derivative of E-Semesta, the E-SPMI application is managed collaboratively by academic departments and administrative faculty.
“Through this interface, study programs will conduct data-backed self-evaluations to verify whether they have cleared national baselines prior to undergoing external review phases, commonly known as SPME or institutional accreditation,” he remarked.
Put simply, E-SPMI functions as a secure, pre-screening laboratory designed to evaluate the internal data and operational health of a major before the university yields these reports to external independent assessors. The application integrates both legally mandated national education targets and specialized performance standards engineered internally by UIN Jakarta.
Riyan added that the E-SPMI engine is tied directly to the university's Key Performance Indicators (IKU) and monitors the deliverables of key executives, including department chairs, faculty deans, and the rectorate. He also noted that follow-up workshops will be rolled out targeting university audit teams, including the Research and Community Engagement Institute (LP2M), the Faculty Quality Assurance Coordinators (KPMF), and departmental quality assurance task forces.
Concluding the rollout forum, university executives emphasized their vision for E-SPMI to act as a permanent institutional pillar capable of sustaining the entire matrix of self-assessment, real-time data tracking, and continuous administrative improvement.
