Energy Usage per SQM
Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University has demonstrated a strong commitment to energy conservation, recording a consistent downward trend in total electricity usage over the past three years. According to the latest data, the campus successfully reduced its annual electricity consumption from 9,424,866 kWh in the 2024 cycle to 8,809,775 kWh in 2025, marking a 6.53% year-over-year decrease. The positive trend continues in 2026, with consumption standing at 4,912,621 kWh for the 8-month period from November 2025 to June 2026.

Setting the Standard for Efficiency
The most significant achievement is the campus's per capita electricity consumption. With a total population of 39,093 people (students and staff), Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University's electricity usage ratio is kept at a remarkable 125.66 kWh per person. This is far below the "highly efficient" standard threshold of <250 kWh per person, solidifying its strong performance in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings.

Driven by Strict Policies and Programs
This steady decline is the result of concrete energy-saving programs and strict university policies, including mandating AC units be set between 24°C and 27°C and strictly enforcing equipment shut-offs at the end of working hours (16:00 WIB Monday - Thursday and 16:30 WIB on Fridays). Encouraging the use of stairs and limiting elevator operations by bypassing the 2nd and 3rd floors. Aggressively transitioning to energy-saving devices, reaching an 86.1% usage rate in 2026, which includes prioritizing laptops and operating over 12,290 LED lamps and 1,568 inverter AC units. Optimizing natural light through glass roofs and operating 396 solar-powered streetlights independent of the PLN grid.
