Encouraging Research, UIN Jakarta Builds SBSN Building for Faculty of Health Sciences Laboratory

Ciputat, UIN News Online- UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta officially started the construction of the Faculty of Health Sciences Laboratory Building on Campus II UIN Jakarta, Wednesday (05/06/2024). The construction of the building, which is projected to cost Rp 57 billion, is targeted to be completed in 2024 so that it can be immediately used by the academic community in the learning and research process.

The inauguration of the construction itself was marked by a groundbreaking procession led directly by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar M.A. Ph.D. In addition to other UIN Jakarta leaders, the groundbreaking procession was attended by a number of Ministry of Religious Affairs officials such as the Coordinator of Planning Kemenag RI Ida Noor Qosim and Coordinator of PTKI Infrastructure Facilities M. Syarif Hidayatullah.

In his speech, Rector Asep Jahar expressed his appreciation for the support of the Ministry of Religious Affairs so that UIN Jakarta gets support in developing learning infrastructure for students. “Thanks to the Ministry of Religious Affairs for its support for UIN Jakarta so that this campus can continue the construction of buildings and other infrastructure facilities,” he said.

UIN Jakarta itself, he explained, is in dire need of infrastructure facilities, especially the Laboratory Building. "The evaluation of the SIIN accreditation agency during the visitation of the accreditation of 4 Podi of the Faculty of Science and Technology some time ago explained the shortcomings of UIN Jakarta. One of them is a research laboratory,” he added.

For the development of science-based faculties, he said, ASIIN international accreditation agencies recommend strengthening laboratories. "There are two types of laboratories, for learning and for research. The laboratory for research still needs strengthening,” he added.

Furthermore, the Rector hopes that the construction of the Laboratory Building can run smoothly. “We hope that the construction of this laboratory building will run smoothly and be completed on time,” he said.

"This facility is expected to support the learning and research process of students and lecturers of the Faculty of Health Sciences. Also other students at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta,” he added.

The official release of the committee mentioned that the construction of the SBSN Laboratory Building of the Faculty of Health Sciences received investment support for building construction from SBSN (State Sharia Securities) amounting to Rp48.5 million. In addition, the investment also comes from the capital participation of BLU UIN Jakarta Rp 8.5 billion.

The laboratory building, which is planned to have five floors, is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year, so that it can be used in the coming academic year by students of the Faculty of Health Sciences of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.

On the same occasion, Planning Coordinator of the Planning Bureau of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Ida Noor Qosim revealed that the construction of the UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Faculty of Health Laboratory Building is part of the support of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in encouraging PTKI through strengthening infrastructure facilities. One of them is by utilizing SBSN funds as the main source of financing.

"This can certainly increase the availability of infrastructure in aligning with national universities. The development trend of UIN Jakarta is quite high, high interest, of course it must be supported,” he said.

Coordinator of PTKIN Infrastructure Facilities of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, M. Syarif Hidayatullah, expressed his congratulations on the progress of the Fikes UIN Jakarta Laboratory Building. He hopes that the construction of the building can support the needs of student research and learning.
