Education Observer: Law for Teacher and Lecturer Does not Corresponds to Age

Jakarta, UIN NEWS Online– Education Observer from UIN Jakarta, Dr Jejen Musfah MA, stated that The law 14 Year 2005 regarding teacher and lecturer does not correspond to age.

“The Act does not correspond with current development and is not in accordance to current real situation. For example, there are thousands of teachers has not yet certified, when they supposedly certified, that is why a serious study is needed to revise the act” said Jejen on Monday (07/23/2018).

Jejen himself stated that the study for the act have been done since four months ago and had done the survey to various regions, and invited 12 experts.

He said that there are many articles need to be revised then proposed to DPR RI.

“The proposal should be proposed this year, currently under study. Expert team, including myself has done the study of revising the act, on the same time, DPR did the same thing, I also invited as PGRI representative” he said.

Jejen also added things that will be proposed in the revision of act. One of them is regarding the payments of certification support, salary of lecturer and teacher, and also teachers certification “There should be coordination between DPR and DPD regarding this issue. DPR should just receive result of DPD study,” he added. (usa-rs)
