Education and Culture Attaché: Academic partnerships with Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands are wide open
Rectorate, UIN News Online – Indonesian Education and Culture Attaché for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Achmad Ubaididilah, and Indonesian Education and Culture Attaché to the Netherlands, Din Wahid, visits the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis in her office on Thursday (02/14/2019). During their visit, the two attaches explained the academic cooperation opportunity that could be carried out by UIN Jakarta with the best universities in Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands.
Ubaidillah explained that UIN Jakarta has many opportunities for academic cooperation with the best universities in Saudi Arabia, especially in the fields of science, medicine and economics. “They also have good research funding and adequate laboratories,” said Ubaidillah.
In addition to Islamic studies, he continued, Saudi Arabia also has a number of the best universities in the fields of science and technology development, health and medicine, and economics. Among them are King Saud University, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, King Abdul Aziz University, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, and Prince Sultan University.
On the same occasion, Din Wahid also encourage UIN Jakarta to sharpen its cooperation with the best universities in the Netherlands. In addition to the social sciences and Islamic studies, this country has many leading universities in the fields of science and technology, medicine, and economics.
According to Din, since he was appointed as Attaché of Indonesian Education and Culture in the Netherlands, he has tried to open up academic cooperation in universities for both countries. In addition to the visiting professors and joint research programs, he also encouraged academic collaboration through the 5000 Doctoral Program under the Directorate of Islamic Higher Education (Diktis), under the Ministry of Religious Affairs Indonesia.
In response, Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis positively welcomed the cooperation opportunities. According to Amany, UIN Jakarta is committed to establish cooperative relationship with various educational institutions to support UIN Jakarta's academic development. (usa)
