Education Against Corruption: UIN Jakarta Spreads Mesage of Justice to Its 137th Graduates

Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Online News — At UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta’s 137th Graduation Ceremony, held during Indonesia’s Independence Month, a stirring oration on the urgent issue of corruption became the highlight of the ceremony.

Delivered before educators, parents, and graduates—the nation’s future leaders—the speech went beyond commemorating the heroes’ struggle for independence. It also underscored one of the greatest challenges facing the nation today: corruption.

Corruption, often seen as an age-old problem, has resurfaced amidst growing reports of cases involving public officials and state institutions. These revelations not only shake the public’s trust in government but also threaten the future of the younger generation.

Therefore, the oration placed strong emphasis on how corruption robs the rights of the marginalized and kills justice—forming the core message of the day.

Linking the fight against corruption to the spirit of independence won with the blood and sacrifice of national heroes, the oration called on all parties to reflect on the true meaning of freedom.

Through this oration, UIN Jakarta graduates are expected not only to witness history but to actively become agents of change in combating corruption in today’s era of technological advancement.

A collective pledge reaffirmed their commitment to reject all forms of corruption and to support firm legal action. With burning determination, they vowed to be part of the solution—not the problem—and to face every challenge with integrity while harnessing the power of technology responsibly.

“Our hope is that we can truly contribute to real life, within society, and continue to be a generation of innovation—one that adapts to technology wisely,” said Kinanti Adlina Putri, one of the graduates.

As graduates of UIN Jakarta, ready to embark on life’s journey and face its challenges while upholding democratic values, student representatives Sarah Maulidya Juniar and Muhammad Mauludi Rizki firmly conveyed their hopes and actions for a corruption-free nation during this grand commencement.
