Distance learning in the middle of pandemic, PGMI study program invites “guest lecturer”
Rectorate, UIN News Online – The Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education Study Program (PGMI) of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK) UIN Jakarta invites "Guest Lectures" for their students' Distance Learning (PJJ) program. The activity aims to share experiences regarding the implementation of PJJ during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The event which was held online on Tuesday (06/09/2020) invited Arifa, a grade 3 teacher at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Raudlatul Ulum Bantur, Malang, East Java and themed “Dinamika Pembelajaran IPS pada Kurikulum 2013”.
In her presentation, Arifa said, theme-based integrated thematic learning to connect one theme with the next theme in one group had been carried out in teaching and learning activities for grades 1-6 MI / SD. However, the final exam causes confusion among students because they are treated to subject-based questions again.
The online learning activities during the pandemic also caused some problems in rural areas. The problem. The problem is, the use of electronic media to connect teachers and students does not work perfectly.
“Not all MI / SD students already have a smart phone. Even some of their parents did not use the device,” she said
Even if there are teachers and students who use smart devices, they also don't always get a good internet network.
In addition, said Arifa, there were results of examinations from children who in the previous semester had scored below the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM), now achieving the highest test scores on the online exam.
Arifa further said, Indonesian education figure Ki Hajar Dewantara said there were three things that became the foundation of character strength and achievement for students, namely the family environment, school environment, and community environment. Therefore, these three environments should work together in improving the quality of education in Indonesia.
In this case, the government through the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) and the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) in delivering information must pay more attention to the smallest problems that occurs
“Teachers and parents and the must cooperate in improving the learning quality during the distance learning,” she said.
Schools as fully implementers of teaching and learning activities based on internet media must also be more pro-active, especially in providing information to parents of students. Likewise, the steps that must be carried out as well as the limitations of their children's assistance, especially when doing exam.
As a children's guide at home, parents must also respect the children rights in having the freedom to do their work according to their understanding and reasoning during the exam. “Assistance is a very wise thing.
