Director of SPs UIN Jakarta Asked the Alumni to Disseminate Moderate Islam
SPs, UIN NEWS Online - UIN Jakartag Gaduate School (SPs) is committed to developing moderate and tolerant Islamic teachings. It is in accordance with Islamic principles as a religion that is rahmatan lil'alamin and upholds the values of democracy and humanity.
This was said by the Director of SPs UIN Jakarta, Masykuri Abdillah, when he inaugurates 13 new graduates from the 2017/2018 academic year at the SPs UIN Theater Room, Jakarta, Wednesday (08/15/2018). Also present in the inauguration event, Head of the Doctoral Program Didin Saepuddin, Head of Master’s JM Muslimin Master, and Doctoral Program Secretary Usep Abdul Matin.
"We must emphasize that the SPs UIN Jakarta does not teach radicalism, fundamentalism and liberalism. On the contrary, the SPS UIN Jakarta teaches Islam which is rahmatan lil'alamin or Islam washatiyah, " said Masykuri.
Therefore, Masykuri also asks alumni who will graduate to disseminate the true Islamic understanding to the community, namely moderate Islam or washatiyah Islam. He also emphasized that one the alumni's duty is to provide understanding and explanation to the public that Islam is not a religion that teaches violence and intolerance.
"I ask alumni to explain and spread the true understanding of Islam. In addition, I also request that alumni to maintain the good name of the alma mater, both in the neighborhood and in the workplace," he hoped.
On the occasion, the Director also expressed his congratulations and success to graduates who have succeeded in gaining new academic degrees, both at the Masters and Doctoral Programs. The acquisition of the degree is expected to provide greater benefits for the person, community, nation and state.
In this inauguration event, SPs UIN Jakarta graduated 13 new graduates, consisting of eight graduates of the Masters Program and five Doctoral Programs. While the best graduate achieved by Saihu from the Concentration of Islamic Education Doctoral Program with a cumulative achievement index (GPA) of 3.69 cumlaude. (usa)
The new graduates will then be officially inaugurated at the 109th Graduation Ceremony in the Harun Nasution Auditorium building on campus 1 on August 19, 2018. (usa)
