Development of UIN Jakarta, Rector expects support from the alumni

Ciputat, UIN News Online – Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis hoping that alumni who take part in various professional and social lines to strengthen their support for the future development of UIN Jakarta. Moreover, UIN Jakarta is currently accelerating institutional transformation from a Public Service Agency State Higher Education (PTN BLU) to become a State University with legal entity (PTN BH).

This was said by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis in her remarks during the virtual dialogue of ADIA / IAIN / UIN Jakarta alumni on Saturday (06/06/2020). The activity entitled “Merawat Kebebasan Mimbar di Era New Normal” was joined by hundreds of cross-generation alumni who took part in various professional, social and scientific lines.

The Rector said, one of the strategic steps that would soon be taken by UIN Jakarta was to accelerate the change in institutional status to become a Legal Entity State University. This change is expected to increase the capacity of UIN Jakarta in creating institutional and academic innovations.

The transformation, she added has been done by 13 other state universities and allowed them to be more flexible in conducting various institutional and academic innovation compared to the PTN BLU. "This is very important for us," she said.

The change in institutional status pioneered by the previous leaders of UIN Jakarta, continues to be a accelerated by carrying out a number of institutional strengthening. Among them was the takeover of the Jakarta Hajj Hospital which was designated as an Education-Research Hospital for the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Health of UIN Jakarta.

We have received the management of the Hajj Hospital, both its assets, human resources, and management. In the future it will become the UIN Jakarta Educational Hospital,” explained the Rector.

Furthermore, UIN Jakarta will continue to strengthen various business activities and institutions to support the academic and research development. ”We want to have a large endowment institution, a philanthropic institution, which can help UIN Jakarta students, social work, as well as community service," she added.

All developments, she explained, need the support from all parties, especially the alumni of UIN Jakarta. In addition to providing support in various sectors, it can also be done through various coaching and training session for UIN Jakarta graduates.
