DEMA FITK UIN Jakarta Holds Opening Ceremony for Hajatan Tarbiyah and Studium Generale

Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN News Online - Student Council of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Keguruan Sciences (DEMA FITK) UIN Jakarta held the Opening Ceremony of Hajatan Tarbiyah and Studium Generalle on Friday (22/11/24). This event carries the theme “Educational Transformation as an Effort to Maintain Cultural Values in Indonesian Society in the Era of Modernization”.

The event was attended by the Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Affairs of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Din Wahid, M. A, Ph.D., Dean of FITK, Siti Azkiyah, M. Sc. Ph.D., as well as the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Prof. Dr. Abdul Mu'ti, M. Ed., and two outstanding speakers, H. Bahrul Hidayat, Ph.D. and Nisa Felicia, Ph.D..

In the event, the Chairman of DEMA FITK, Rifqi Aunurrofi Al-Gifari delivered his remarks, Hajatan Tarbiyah 2024 was inspired by the father of our education, Mr. Ki Hajar Dewantara, where education is not just educating or transferring abilities, but education is a process of humanizing humans. The opening ceremony was opened directly by the Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Affairs of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Din Wahid, M. A, Ph. D.

Executive Director of the Center for Education and Policy Studies (PSPK), Nisa Felicia, Ph.D. conveyed the points regarding the transformation of education. In her speech, Nisa invited students to think critically not to eliminate local culture but also to be able to collaborate the local culture with the culture that is spread today. Likewise, Nisa hopes that young people must be smart and able to think in determining which cultures should be developed and which are considered taboo but are instead preserved.

Regarding literacy, Nisa discussed that literacy or reading books is a necessity not just a hobby or can be put aside. “Until whatever age reading is very important, if you don't like or don't want to read then you will become someone who is irrelevant,” she concluded.
