DEMA FDI holds online Khatmil Qur’an

Ciputat, UIN News Online – To fill the Ramadan activity, Student Council (DEMA) of the Dirasat Islamiyah Faculty (FDI) UIN Jakarta holds an online Khatmil Qur’an through Zoom platform, Friday (05/22/2020) and followed by all academic community of FDI UIN Jakarta.

Hosted by Deputy Dean for Student Affairs Moch Syarif Hidayatullah, the event begins at 03.00 PM with the reading of ikhtitam prayers, recited by the Dean of FDI Syairozi Dimyati and tausiyah by the Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis.

In her tausiyah, the Rector stated that currently Indonesia was plagued by the Covid-19 outbreaks. Muslims are asked to continue praying to Allah SWT so that the plague disappears from the face of the earth.

To eliminate the plague, UIN Jakarta, along with other prominent religious figures held an international "Prayer for Humanity" online on May 14, 2020. Religious leaders from Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Confucianism, and other beliefs, all united together spiritually to beseech the God to eradicate the coronavirus pandemic.

“The Grand Shaykh Al-Azhar of Egypt Ahmed el-Thayeb also gave a prayer via online video,” said Rector.

Furthermore, the Khatmil Qur'an is also held to increase our devotion to Allah SWT. Especially in the month of Ramadan, all Muslims in the world are asked to do more dhikr and du’a.

“Let us make this Ramadan as a momentum to get closer to Allah SWT,” she said. (usa/ns)
