DEMA FAH UIN Jakarta – ASEAN holds international seminar on youth exchange and scholarship programs
Main Auditotrium, UIN News Online – Student Council (DEMA) of Adab and Humanities faculty, in collaboration with ASEAN community holds international seminar on youth exchange and scholarship programs, Monday (03/18/2019) at Harun Nasution Auditorium, campus I of UIN Jakarta.
Present as speakers, Romeo A. Arca Jr. (Assistant Director, Community Relations Division, Community & Corporate Affairs Department, ASEAN Secretariat), Yacinta Esti Wulan Wahyu Jati (Project Manager of the ASEAN Farmer Organizations Support Program), and Larasati Indrawagita (Senior Officer of Education, Youth, and Sports Division, ASEAN Secretariat).
Dean of FAH UIN Jakarta Saeful Umam in his remarks said that this activity was an important moment for students to expand their networking and relationship building. “It can open up opportunities to develop your knowledge and capability,” said Umam.
Umam hopes that the students will continue to explore their potential in order to prepare themselves to be a qualified nation's next generation.
On the same occasion, Rector of UIN Jakarta Amany Lubis highly appreciates this activity, especially to develop the cooperation between UIN Jakarta and ASEAN Secretariat as well as collaboration between students all over ASEAN countries.
Amany also added, in order to expand their networking, students must be equipped with foreign language skills. “Studying another language will increase the effectiveness of cross-cultural communication. A person who knows multiple languages have a valuable role in the workplace and will be compensated for their expertise,” said Amany.
Meanwhile, Romeo A Arca Jr in his remarks expressed his appreciation to the newly appointed Rector (Amany Lubis –ed) and the Dean of FAH. Romeo also hopes that the students will have a greater understanding about ASEAN, especially the ASEAN Youth Program and about what ASEAN community brings to the people. (usa)
