Dedicated Academician and Expert Politician, Profile of The New General Chairperson of IKALUIN
Alumni Center, UIN News Online - The Alumni Association of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (IKALUIN) Jakarta held a Grand Reunion and National Conference (Munas) VI in 2025 at the Alumni Center Building IKALUIN Jakarta on Saturday (18/01/2025).
Besides from being a gathering place between alumni, this activity also served as a forum for the election of the General Chairperson of IKALUIN for the period of 2025 until 2029. It turns out that Tb. Ace Hasan Syadzily is once again elected as the Chairperson of IKALUIN Jakarta for the next four years. As you may know, Ace also served as the Governor of the Indonesian National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) during the period of President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto.
Profile of Tb. Ace Hasan Syadzily
Tubagus Ace Hasan Syadzily was born in Pandeglang, Banten on September 19, 1976. He is the son of KH. Tb A. Rafei Ali and Hj Siti Sutihat. His father was the caretaker of Annizhomiyyah Islamic Boarding School in Pandeglang and also a politic activist during the New Order era. Since childhood, Ace grew up with pesantren traditions and political activities.
Ace is an alumnus of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. He graduated from the Arabic Language and Literature Program at the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Jakarta in 2001. Then, he continued his Master's degree in Anthropology at the University of Indonesia, and earned a Doctorate in Government Science from Padjadjaran University.
Life on Campus
During college, Ace was a campus activist. Apparently, he served as the Chairman of the Student Association of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature of UIN Jakarta 1995-1997, Chairman of the Student Senate of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities of UIN Jakarta in 1997-1988, and became President of the Student Executive Board of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta in 1998-2000. Like other typical students, he was also active in various student activity forums even when he was busy in his own college.
Political and Academical Career
Ace began his career by taking part in politics. Before he serves as the Governor of Lemhannas RI, he was a member of the House of Representatives (DPR) of the Eighth Commission on Religion and Social Affairs in 2013. Later on, he was also assigned as the member of DPR of the Second Commission in charge of Domestic Politics in 2016.
Not only that, Ace is also dedicate himself as an academician. For instance, he is currently a lecturer at UIN Jakarta's Faculty of Economics and Business and a postgraduate lecturer at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University in Serang, Banten. He is also a productive writer who likes to discuss social, political and cultural issues. Some of his works include; Mencari Akar Kultural Civil Society di Indonesia, Civil Society & Demokrasi: Survey tentang Partisipasi Sosial-Politik Warga Jakarta, Arifin Ilham: Dai Kota Penabur Kedamaian Jiwa, Keniscayaan Globalisasi & Nasib Civil Society, and Desentralisasi, Otonomi, dan Pemekaran Daerah di Indonesia.
Based on his various experiences and dedication, Tb. Ace Hasan Syadzily is expected to be able to advance IKALUIN forward during his leadership period.
